Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to take a leading role in the development of BESS projects throughout Germany. Based in Berlin, you will manage projects from early‑stage site identification through to ready‑to‑build, coordinating technical, commercial, and regulatory workstreams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full development lifecycle of BESS projects, from site origination and feasibility through permitting and financial close.
• Identify, evaluate, and secure suitable project sites across Germany.
• Manage planning and permitting processes, including coordination with local authorities, landowners, and consultants.
• Work closely with grid, technical, and commercial teams to integrate all project requirements.
• Conduct commercial assessments, support business case development, and contribute to investment decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor industry and regulatory developments to inform project strategy and identify new opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in project development processes and best practices.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in project development within renewable energy, ideally with exposure to BESS, solar, or onshore wind.
• Strong understanding of German permitting processes, land acquisition, and project development frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and deliver outcomes to defined timelines.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent in German and English.
