About the Role

Location – Hamburg, Leipzig (fully remote across Saxony)

We are seeking an experienced Project Developer to support the identification, acquisition, and development of open-space sites for utility-scale battery storage (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) projects across Germany. In this role, you will manage projects from early‑stage site scouting through permitting and preparation for construction, working closely with municipalities, landowners, technical experts, and external service providers.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding renewable energy infrastructure within a rapidly growing sector.

Your Responsibilities

• Identify and secure suitable open-space sites for BESS and PV projects across Germany
• Negotiate lease or purchase agreements with landowners and municipalities
• Present projects at municipal level and lead public information events
• Initiate and coordinate planning law procedures (e.g., land use plan amendments, development plan preparation)
• Manage permit applications and support projects up to construction readiness
• Select, commission, and coordinate external service providers
• Maintain clear communication with municipalities, authorities, service partners, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle

Your Profile

• Completed studies in engineering, renewable energies, geography, law, spatial or urban planning, or a comparable field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in utility-scale project development for BESS and/or PV projects
• Strong skills in MS Office (O365); experience with project management tools, GIS, or CAD is an advantage
• Fluent German skills (written & spoken)
• Class B driving licence (approx. 20% national travel)
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with a confident professional presence
• Independent, structured, and self-driven working style combined with strong teamwork capabilities
• High motivation to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy in Germany
