Job summary

Sharpist is hiring a Senior Product Designer to transform how organizations scale leadership development through a hybrid human + AI coaching experience. You will shape the design of web and mobile apps, coach platforms, and enterprise dashboards, owning the end-to-end process from framing problems to shipping interactive prototypes.

Collaboration with product engineers and the lead designer is essential. You will drive AI-first workflows, prototype with modern tools, and push design patterns

Qualifications

What you'll do here at Sharpist

As a Senior Product Designer (f/m/x), you will have a true impact in changing how companies transform mindsets and behavior across their entire workforce globally. You will play a key role in contributing to the design and delivery of our hybrid human + AI coaching experience, and you will primarily be responsible for designing high-quality product experiences. You do this by helping our client companies drive their strategic and employee-development goals through Sharpist's unique approach: digital coaching backed by a strong learner experience across our apps. This means you get to work with some of the most exciting brands in DACH and globally, including names such as IKEA, LVMH or GetYourGuide.

In your role you will design solutions across our product: the web and mobile learner app, coach and internal platforms, and enterprise client dashboard. You won't be boxed into one area: you work on whatever matters most in the moment, from the learner-facing moments people love to the workflows behind the scenes.

You own the full cycle: framing the problem, shaping the solution, and prototyping it into something real and interactive rather than stopping at static mockups. You're a builder at heart: when you have an idea, your instinct is to make it tangible, put it in front of people, and iterate. You work closely with the lead designer, who owns the design vision, and partner with our product engineers to take work from concept to shipped experience.

You work AI-first. AI is your default across the whole process: exploring directions and synthesizing research, and especially prototyping, where you use modern AI build tools to stand up working prototypes without hand-coding everything. You have judgment about when the output is good and when to override it, and you're always looking for the next tool or technique that lets you build better.

You're also a systems thinker. You see the underlying structure, not just the surface: you make complex things simple, design for reuse and consistency, and think about how one decision holds up across the whole product. Throughout, you don't compromise on excellent craft. And you bring an enabling mindset: you're the kind of person who helps others around you make better design decisions, whether that's engineers, the wider team, or new ways of working, and you help push that culture forward alongside us.

Within 1 month, you will…

• Get a complete understanding of our product surfaces beginning with learner mobile and web apps, and enterprise dashboard: who uses what, on which platform, and what each surface is trying to achieve for its users, and get familiar with our design system and tools
• Get to know how the product trio works (how we source problems, craft them, and run spikes) and start contributing your own observations
• Get hands-on early: pick up a real problem and start exploring solutions in collaboration with the team, rather than only observing
• Establish your AI-first design-and-prototyping workflow (e.g. research synthesis, prototyping acceleration) and share it with the team so others can benefit

Within 1 quarter, you will…

• Own an end-to-end product design cycle: run discovery (or a design spike), translate insights into clear design decisions, and turn them into working, interactive prototypes the team can test and feel, not just describe
• Help make our design quality bar explicit and shared, so it shows up consistently in what gets shipped
• Partner with engineering (who also own data) to define what to measure and how to validate impact

Within 1 year, you will…

• Take ownership across whichever product areas need you most, become a reliable source of well-framed problems for the trio, and help shape the vision for Sharpist's hybrid human + AI coaching experience
• Create and standardize design patterns for our hybrid coaching experience (including conversational/adaptive AI interactions), while keeping the coach and learner in control
• Use your systems thinking to keep our growing product coherent, designing patterns and structures that scale, in close partnership with the lead designer
• Help raise the whole team's ability to design and build well: champion better design decisions across engineering and the team, and drive forward new tools and AI-first ways of working

Primary qualifications

• 5+ years as a product designer (ideally across mobile and web), with strong UX and UI fundamentals and strong end-to-end thinking (problem framing, flow, interaction, visual execution)
• A portfolio that shows not just polished design, but things you've made real: prototypes, working demos, or products people actually used
• A builder's mindset: your instinct is to make ideas tangible fast, learn, and iterate. You're scrappy and resourceful, and you don't wait for perfect conditions to start
• An AI-first workflow: AI is your default across design and prototyping, and you can turn a concept into something real and interactive with modern AI build tools (v0, Lovable, Cursor, Framer), with the judgment to know when the output is good and when to override it
• A systems thinker who sees underlying structure, makes complex things simple, and designs for reuse and consistency
• A track record of proactively identifying problems worth solving, not only executing on a defined brief, and a genuine hunger to pick up new skills, tools, and technologies
• An enabling mindset: you like helping the people around you make better design decisions, and you raise the level of the team rather than keeping craft to yourself
• Comfort owning the end-to-end product design cycle in a lean product trio (lead designer, lead engineer, senior front-end engineer) with no PM layer, iterating quickly, often side-by-side with engineering
• Proficiency with Figma, and strong writing and communication skills in English
• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate (hybrid working model)
