Qualifikationen

  • 3–7 years of experience developing dry etch processes on 200mm and/or 300mm semiconductor platforms.
  • Proven experience with process qualification and ramp-up in a fab pilot-line environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with a hands-on approach.

  • Develop, qualify, and sustain dry etch processes for assigned modules.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to optimize etch process windows.
  • Drive root-cause analysis for yield issues.

Your Qualifications
  • 3–7 years of experience developing and sustaining dry etch processes on 200mm and/or 300mm semiconductor platforms
  • Proven experience with process qualification, optimization, and ramp-up in a fab pilot-line environment.
  • Strong understanding of plasma etch fundamentals, including process chemistry, profile control, selectivity, and integration dependencies
  • Hands‑on experience working with RIE‑based platforms (e.g., LAM, TEL, AMAT), from a process engineering perspective
  • Familiarity with advanced etch techniques such as Atomic Layer Etch (ALE) is a strong plus
  • Experience applying DOE, SPC, and data‑driven methodologies to improve process stability and yield
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with a hands‑on, proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English

The Role

Black Semiconductor is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer – Dry Etch (f/m/d) to join our semiconductor fab team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of dry etch processes across new and existing layers in a state‑of‑the‑art facility. Your work to develop, stabilize, and scale etch processes will directly impact device performance, yield, and long‑term manufacturing robustness.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role across the engineering team, working closely with Integration, Equipment Engineering, and internal/external partners to define etch strategies, qualify processes, and establish strong process control in a fast‑paced pilot‑line environment

To join our team, you should be excited to
  • Develop, qualify, and sustain dry etch processes for assigned process modules, supporting both new‑layer bring‑up and ongoing production needs
  • Execute and support process qualification activities in close collaboration with Equipment Engineering and Integration teams
  • Define and optimise etch process windows, focusing on critical metrics such as CD control, profile, selectivity, uniformity, and defectivity
  • Collaborate with the BLK Integration team to support future applications and process modules aligned with our long‑term technology roadmap
  • Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for process excursions, yield issues, and integration challenges
  • Develop and implement robust process control methodologies, including SPC, DOE‑based optimisation, and process monitoring strategies
  • Mentor technical engineering team members and support the development of less‑experienced engineers on dry etch processes and best practices
