United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior News Editor for the German edition to shape money-saving journalism and engaging user experiences across our digital destinations. You will lead editorial coverage, manage planning, and drive high-quality stories with strong SEO and audience focus.

You will collaborate with Editorial, PR, and Commercial teams, leveraging CMS tools and AI-assisted workflows to maintain standards and deliver timely content.

We are looking for a Senior News Editor to join our team. At the company, your role will be instrumental in helping us turn the mydealz Magazine into Germany's most trusted source for money-saving journalism, creating exceptional user experiences and empowering consumers to make informed and confident shopping decisions. As a key part of our team, you'll be directly involved in building and enhancing the digital destinations our users rely on throughout their shopping journeys.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Reader Value and Deal Judgement

• Identify why an offer matters to someone trying to save money, and name the concrete saving lever behind the price, use community signals as reporting evidence.

Content Creation and Management

• Write strong and engaging headlines and copy, and develop story ideas and coverage plans.
• Own the weekly editorial plan for the German edition and make sure stories land on time and at standard.
• Own recurring shopping events end to end: planning, hub pages, live coverage, post-mortem.
• Choose images, videos, and other media with a keen eye to increase the quality of our content.

Proofreading and Editing

• Own keyword research, title and heading structure, internal linking and structured data.
• Edit articles for grammatical accuracy, factual consistency, and style consistency according to our guidelines.
• Brief, review and sign off articles from staff editors and freelance contributors, with written feedback.
• Optimize content for search engines (SEO/GEO) and digital platforms to maximize reach and engagement.

Performance Analysis

• Track conversion rates, organic (Google) traffic, and click-through rates.
• Turn those numbers into a weekly decision: what to repeat, what to fix, what to stop.

Collaboration and Coordination

• Work with the platform's Editorial department, PR, Commercial and Social to gather insights and coordinate coverage.

Expertise and Author Credibility

• Track the market you cover, from launches and price cycles to retailer moves, and turn it into a topic pipeline rather than a reading list.
• Keep a network you can actually call: manufacturers, independent testers, and the mydealz Community. Representing us publicly is welcome, not required.

AI knowledge and Expansion

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its current applications, and potential future developments, particularly in the context of journalism and content creation.
• Use AI tooling in daily production within our editorial guidelines, and build and maintain the desk's prompts and skills.

Crisis Management

• Stay calm and efficient under pressure.

Compliance Monitoring

• Ensure all stories comply with legal guidelines and journalistic standards.

Your Profile

We're looking for someone with at least 3 years of editorial experience in an online newsroom, who is dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences and driving innovation.

• Editorial: Published work you can point to, ability to find the story in a price, clean handling of numbers and sources.
• Technical Skills: CMS routine (ideally WordPress with Gutenberg), Google Search Console, an SEO suite (Ahrefs or Semrush), price-history tools (Idealo, Keepa, CamelCamelCamel), hands-on AI tooling in a production workflow.
• Soft Skills: Judgement under time pressure, giving and taking feedback, clear communication across departments, ownership without being asked.
• Language requirements: Fluent German and English.
