Job summary

Optimus Search Limited is seeking a Senior ML Engineer (NLP) for the Munich area to lead on-device NLP initiatives. You will adapt, evaluate and deploy language models to run efficiently on embedded hardware.

Requirements include a degree in CS or AI, 5+ years of Python (Rust experience) and hands-on NLP, with familiarity in LLMs and model compression for HMI. Candidates must have no government/security restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Adapt, evaluate and deploy NLP models for human-machine interaction on embedded and hardware platforms
• Optimize language models for efficient local execution
• Integrate language-processing capabilities into existing system architectures across different environments
• Validate model behaviour and runtime performance against operational requirements, ensuring reliable on-device interaction
• Refine deployment configurations to balance accuracy, responsiveness and resource consumption across constrained computing platforms

Desired Skills and Experience

• Completed a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or similar
• 5+ years in Python programming, supported by initial experience in Rust
• Experience in NLP, particularly the optimisation and deployment of NLP models onto hardware, without cloud dependencies
• Experience in LLMs, model compression, and human-machine interaction (HMI)
• Candidates must be clear of any government, defense, or security-related employment restrictions
