Isar Aerospace is seeking a senior design engineer to own mechanism design for launch vehicle systems. You will work across CAD, sizing and documentation, ensuring robust hardware through qualification activities.

The role requires hands-on experience in kinematic synthesis, actuation systems, and interdisciplinary collaboration with structures, propulsion, and production teams. English fluency is essential; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with proven results and timely execution.
• 8+ years in a full cycle design engineering role including CAD, assembly and test execution.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, project management, scheduling, materials and surface treatments.
• Strong understanding of ISO GPS or ASME GD&T tolerancing principles.
• Experience with testing plans and procedures, support to test execution and post processing.
• Fluent English; German language skills are a plus.

You will need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively withstakeholders,directreportsand leaders within and outside the organization. You will bepart of a team responsiblefor developing stage separation mechanisms, fairing separation mechanisms, hydraulic,pneumaticand electro-mechanicalactuatorsand umbilicalfluid and electricalsystems.You have mechanical and integrated design experience as well asproventrack recordofdelivering results on time and quality, whilecompleting collaborative projects effectively. Your design, analysis and manufacturing skills enable you to own the outcomes of key mechanism design trades anddevelopment ofour Spectrum Launch Vehicle.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

• Design of the vehicle mechanisms through design phases(CAD, drawings, sizing)until qualification and acceptance.
• Driving trade studies, manufacturingoptimizationandperformance formechanisms
• Interface with teams in static structures and propulsion, AGNC, AIT, production
• Creating,reviewingandreleasing development and flight hardware drawingsand design documentation
• Identifyingbuild/test/design optimizations and working them to resolution
• Contribute to testing activities, such as definition of test plans and procedures, support to the test team in test execution and post processing

Qualification Checklist

Bonus Skills

• Previousexperience with kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation, mechatronics, instrumentation, structures strength, stability, fatigue failuremodesand tribologyin the aerospace industry.
• Experience in structure and fluid systems forlaunchvehicle designor equivalent aerospace product,complex partsmanufacturingand assembly techniques.
• Strong experience with designengineering tools such as NX,TeamCenter,Solidworks,Catiaor equivalent.
• Experience with structuralsizingtools such asAnsys, AltairHyperWorkssolutions, Nastran, etc. and with analytical sizing calculations (e.g.HSB, Brunn, etc.)
• Strong experience with ERP/MES Systems, product lifecycle management (PLMe.g.Teamcenter)and/or data management
