As a Senior mechanical design engineer, you will be a significant contributor to our mechanical design team and a key player responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our battery and charger products. With our world‑class team, currently over 20 members, you will play a key role in pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility.

Day‑to‑Day Mission

• Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design for new products and components using CAD software (Catia v5 is mandatory).
• Analysis & Calculations: Perform engineering analyses and calculations for critical design aspects, including tolerance stack ups, thermal analysis, and ultra‑lightweight design.
• Prototyping & De‑Risking: Initiate and support the prototyping and early testing to de‑risk key mechanical concepts and designs.
• Project Participation: Serve as the technical lead on major projects, coordinating activities with cross‑functional teams (Electrical, Manufacturing, Supply chain).
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs, and design review presentations.
• Supplier Management: Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), ensuring high‑quality and cost‑effective production.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and technical support to less experienced mechanical engineers.
• Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality procedures.

What you bring to the team

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally within a relevant industry (e.g., consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, automotive).
• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Catia v5, proven experience with FEA tools, and a strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and kinematics.
• Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept through mass production.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, casting, stamping).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional experience in the industry (UAV, consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, automotive) preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• German language skills are welcome.
