For our Global R&D Finance Department in Marburg, we are looking for a Senior Manager, FBP GRAS (UK/DE) (m/f/x) (R-266459). This is a full‑time, permanent position.

The purpose of this role

The role will assist with finance business partnering for the Global Regulatory and Safety (GRAS) Operations business area and support the wider Finance Business Partnering requirements for CSL’s Global R&D organization. The role holder will:

  • Report to the Lead Finance Business Partner for Global Regulatory and Safety Operations and support them in all financial analysis and modeling.
  • Establish a deep understanding of global functional and TA strategy, interrelationship with the Early Development, Platform and Late‑Stage Therapy Area Development programs and broader financial implications.
  • Provide financial guidance and insights to help drive short‑ and long‑term portfolio goals.
The opportunity

The role holder will be focused on the Global Regulatory and Safety Operations function and play a leadership role in delivery of the R&D Finance Business Partner model through effective team deployment. Core activities will include:

Financial Planning and Performance Management
  • Provide valuable insights about financial planning, forecast and expenditure with a strong focus on Project financials and OPEX spending issues.
  • Support the financial planning and reporting requirements for respective global functions with close collaboration with RDLT‑1 LT as well as respective TA/PST stakeholder.
  • Assist with Functional Monthly Financial Reviews and Quarterly planning cycles to drive deeper understanding of business dynamics, financial implications and future sensitivities.
  • Organize, structure, connect, and integrate business and financial information across functions and projects to support effective decision making.
Value and Insights
  • Proactively collaborate with Corporate Finance in the development, validation and refresh of respective business case assumptions for areas within remit.
  • Ensure alignment of project budgets and timelines and address variance to project plan in accordance with R&D Decision Making Framework.
Other Accountabilities
  • Champion the Business Partnering mind‑set; serve as Primary Financial Advisor to support strategic decision‑making across R&D.
  • Provide financial support in association with R&D integration in any future external collaborations/acquisitions.
  • Support Investor Relations / Analyst half‑year and full‑year finance reporting requirements for functional and program understanding, providing appropriate insight into the R&D portfolio, progress and performance.
  • Be an advocate for changes that support the R&D organization in Finance process improvement activities.
The role
  • Provide leaders with finance guidance and decision‑making support (including regular business reviews) for strategic plans, major investment decisions, business plans and targets informed through analysis of key drivers of business and sensitivities, business cases and trends.
  • Support functional requirements to develop budgets and forecasts by helping managers understand the financial impacts of their plans and decisions as well as providing advice about the Global Finance Calendar and key delivery dates.
  • Provide support for OPEX projects and reporting (with the support of Accounting Operations and FP&A as required) with additional narratives and comments to assist line managers to meet and exceed their performance targets and effectively manage the financial aspects of their projects.
  • Clearly define customer needs and review both ad‑hoc and routine reporting and analytics to ensure they meet internal customers' needs and are well understood.
  • Liaise and coordinate with peers to ensure delivery of the enterprise model with consistency between global functions, ensuring shared learnings, innovation, and good practice.
  • Contribute to or lead global or functional specific projects as required to improve the business, function or finance performance.
  • Participate in developing tools, techniques, and best practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the R&D Finance capability in support of the Finance Strategy and R&D Finance Vision.
  • Support the development of complex business cases and other complex business analysis and modelling to provide additional guidance and insights to senior business leaders.
Your skills and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • MBA or other advanced degree in Accounting or Qualification preferred.
  • Professional certification (CPA/CMA) desirable.
  • 7+ years’ experience in finance roles, with extensive experience in budgeting and forecasting, analysis, including the development of business cases in a pharmaceutical R&D environment or similar industry.
