Smart Host is a B2B SaaS platform in the hospitality industry. We empower hotels to put their data to work. We collect clean and enrich guest data from both internal and external data sources. Combining this data with analytics and multi-channel messaging allows us to take guest communication and marketing efforts to a new level. Our typical clients are not necessarily tech-savvy so its on us to skyrocket them into the digital marketing age by simplifying the experience to a maximum through great usability.

Our growth and product development require increased specialization of the development team. We introduce an API development specialist role. As part of our backend team you will take care of connecting our application to new APIs as well as extending and maintaining our existing API connections. Since the hotel tech worlds systems are very heterogeneous every new API is a new challenge to tackle. Tasks

• Developing APIs for a SaaS backend with non-trivial business logic
• Being responsible for the correctness of your code
• Working together with our backend engineers on designing and implementing API features
• Fighting emerging code complexity by questioning and improving architecture and concepts

Requirements

• You are proficient in Java and have kept track of its development to Java 21
• You are familiar with some of the following technologies : Gradle Spring JPA Scripting (Shell Python) PostgreSQL
• You know the fundamentals of networking operating systems and distributed computing
• You care about code quality and refactor code where it is required
• You dig deep to find the root cause of any problem before escalating responsibility
• You constantly extend and share your professional knowledge
