Job description

As a Senior iOS Engineer at idealo, you drive the evolution of our award-winning e-commerce apps. We enable millions of users to compare prices and make informed purchasing decisions on their mobile devices. We are a fully integrated and autonomous team that balances proven technologies with cutting-edge experimentation, delivering best‑in‑class user experiences that drive idealo's mission. We own our code and decide on the technical direction of our products. We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to help us take our apps to the next level.

About your new role

• At idealo, you are part of a team of highly motivated iOS developers who strive for excellence in product and software development.

• You work closely with product owners, user experience designers, data analysts, Android engineers and the engineering team responsible for our app-focused GraphQL backend.

• We work as an agile team where you will be involved in product development from ideation to operating a product at scale.

• You'll work with modern technologies and practices on a high-quality Swift codebase, allowing us to innovate quickly and efficiently.

• A refined user interface is important to you, and you work closely with your UX colleagues to make features even better during implementation.

• You apply pragmatic solutions, find the right trade‑offs, and seek to reduce complexity to help your team deliver effectively and scale engineering impact across the organisation.

Skills & Requirements

• You have a deep understanding of native iOS development and extensive experience working with Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI.

• Ideally, you have experience working with GraphQL APIs.

• You are passionate about writing readable, reliable, maintainable, and testable code.

• You are an open and communicative team player, curious about solving interesting and sometimes complex problems.

• You are a self‑sufficient and well‑organised software engineer, and you can expect the same from the team around you.

At idealo you can expect

• Looking to grow your skills? We take your personal development goals seriously. Alongside our idealo Learning Hub, e-learning opportunities (e.g. Udemy), coaching and mediation, you'll also have the opportunity to make use of our individual learning and development budget.

• What about the office? Located in the heart of Berlin, our office offers excellent free lunch, complimentary coffee, lemonade, and after‑work beer — plus the obligatory foosball table. You can also enjoy networking with colleagues from across our company group on our beautiful rooftop terrace.

• Need support beyond work? We offer free counseling and support in all areas of life (professional, private, family, health, etc.) in cooperation with the pme‑Familienservice.

• You want full flexibility on your way to work and beyond? No problem with a job bike or Deutschlandticket‑ and it's environmentally friendly, too!

• Want to keep yourself fit? We offer many different fitness and sports options, such as an Urban Sports or Gympass membership, to suit your personal needs.

• And what else is there? Of course, success must be celebrated! In addition to team events, you can also expect big company events and other moments of organized connection with others in the company and your team throughout the year!
