Abacus Medicine Group is building GenAI-powered solutions in Berlin to solve business problems across the organization. The team develops end-to-end AI applications, from data ingestion to model delivery, collaborating with engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders.

The role focuses on hands‑on GenAI development, including NLP/LLM work, prompt design, and workflow automation across cloud platforms. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience in software engineering or ML/DL with GenAI or NLP.
• Strong Python skills with production‑quality code.
• Experience building production‑grade GenAI apps: RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, fine‑tuning, prompts, vector stores.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) in production.
• Comfortable with containerization, CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native tooling.
• Proficient in English in professional settings.

We are building production GenAI applications that solve real business problems across Abacus. As part of the AI for Automation team within Data, Analytics & AI, you will help turn strong use cases into reliable, scalable solutions with measurable business impact. You will design, prototype, and ship end-to-end AI solutions together with engineers, data scientists, delivery leads, and business stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities include

• Designing and implementing GenAI solutions for real business use cases, from classical NLP approaches to LLM-based applications, depending on what the problem actually needs.
• Building and optimizing RAG pipelines: document ingestion, embeddings, vector search and retrieval quality.
• Developing prompt engineering strategies and managing prompt lifecycles for production use.
• Designing and implementing GenAI workflow automations and integrations (Azure AI Foundry, LangGraph, or similar).
• Rapidly prototype new GenAI use cases, validate ideas early with clear success criteria, and iterate before moving solutions into production.
• Collaborating with Delivery Leads, Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, Data Scientists and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end GenAI applications.
• Taking ownership of solution design and delivery for defined work packages, components or functions within larger AI initiatives.
• Integrating external data sources and APIs to extend AI capabilities.
• Bringing emerging AI techniques, tools and research back to the team and helping us evaluate what is worth investing in.

In addition, your profile includes

• hands-on experience in software engineering or machine learning / deep learning, with a meaningful portion in GenAI or NLP.
• Strong Python skills. You write clean, production-quality code and you review other people's code constructively.
• Experience building production-grade GenAI applications: RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, fine-tuning, prompt engineering and vector databases.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS or GCP, in a production context.
• Comfortable operating in a modern engineering environment: you have worked with containerization, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native tooling, and you know your way around at least some of it.
• Comfortable working in English in a professional setting, written and verbal.

A plus for this role

• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or similar) and workflow automation tools (n8n, Azure AI Foundry, or similar).
• Experience working in cross-functional teams with non-technical stakeholders.
