welevel is seeking a Senior Game QA Tester in Munich to actively contribute to the quality of our upcoming survival-to-city-builder RPG Solid River. You will lead hands-on testing of game builds, identify bugs with real impact on priorities, and own quality across complex gameplay systems, leveraging AAA QA experience.

You will collaborate with designers and programmers, mentor junior testers, and help shape QA processes while testing across development stages and playtests.

Qualifikationen

• QA experience in game development with at least one shipped AAA title.
• Structured test planning, regression testing, and bug-tracking workflows.
• Own complex systems and drive quality independently.
• Proficient in English; German is a plus.

Your Role

As a Senior Game QA Tester, you will actively contribute to the quality of our upcoming survival-to-city-builder RPG Solid River. The position involves hands‑on testing of game builds throughout development, identifying bugs and gameplay issues with real impact on game priorities and improvements. The role requires ownership of quality across complex gameplay systems, leveraging proven AAA game development QA experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the QA strategy for assigned systems and drive testing standards across the team
• Mentor junior testers and help shape QA processes and best practices
• Test game builds and features across different development stages
• Identify, reproduce, and clearly describe bugs and unexpected behavior
• Verify bug fixes and support regression testing
• Create and maintain structured test cases for assigned areas
• Participate in regular playtests and provide actionable gameplay feedback

Requirements

• QA experience in game development, with at least one shipped AAA title
• Deep experience with structured test planning, regression testing, and bug‑tracking workflows (e.g. Jira)
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex systems and drive quality independently
• Strong passion for games, especially survival, building, and RPG games
• Interest in complex gameplay systems, progression, and balance
• High attention to detail and a structured way of working
• Sense of responsibility for the quality of your work and the player experience
• Ability to clearly describe issues and feedback in English (German is a plus)
• Ability to work on‑site in Munich and collaborate closely with the team
