Job summary

Solactive AG is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join the ANR team in Berlin. You will be primarily a backend engineer (about 80%) with strong Java/Spring Boot and data-driven delivery, plus 20% frontend tasks to support internal tooling.

You will design, build, and operate services that ingest data, render client-facing documents, and deliver them via APIs and pipelines. Collaboration and mentoring are key to success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering with a strong backend focus.
• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, production-grade service design.
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka (or comparable platform).
• Experience designing/operating services on major public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure), cloud-agnostic.
• Strong SQL skills and relational databases.
• Experience with Docker and orchestration.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer in the ANR team, you will be primarily abackend engineer with fullstack capabilities (~80% backend / 20% frontend). You willdesign, build, and operate the services and pipelines that aggregate financial data,render client-facing documents, and deliver them through APIs and automated pushmechanisms. You will also contribute to the internal tooling and lightweight frontendsthat support the team's products.You will take ownership of complex features end-to-end, drive technical decisionswithin your area, mentor less experienced engineers, and collaborate with DevOpsand other engineering teams. We are looking for engineers who don't wait to be toldwhat to build next, who proactively spot gaps, propose improvements, and turnambiguity into shipped work.

Your Tasks

• Design, implement, and operate backend services in Java (Spring Boot) that powerdata aggregation, rendering, and customer delivery.
• Integrate with Apache Kafka and GCP Pub/Sub for event-driven data flows;consume, transform, and cache data from upstream data points in a reliable andrecoverable manner.
• Build and maintain public APIs and automated document delivery pipelines (pushto customer servers, on-demand retrieval).
• Contribute to the document rendering architecture, keeping it extensible for bothstandard and custom, client-specific documents, and actively pushing documentsout rather than only exposing them passively.
• Develop the internal frontend tooling required by the team and its products; helpdefine the frontend stack as the team evolves.
• Write SQL and work with relational databases, including query optimization and schema design for reporting workloads.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps practices within the team.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promote engineering best practices, andcontribute to code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements intoreliable technical solutions, and explain complex technical trade-offs back to themin plain language

Your Profile

Must Have

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend focus.
• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including production-grade service
  design.
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka (or comparable event streaming platforms).
• Experience designing and operating services on a major public cloud (GCP, AWS,
  or Azure); cloud-agnostic mindset, ability to transfer skills across providers.
  Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical fullstack ability: comfortable building internal tooling / lightweight
  frontends; frontend framework can be defined together with the team.
• Track record of designing scalable, resilient systems and taking features from
  concept to production.
• A proactive mindset: you spot gaps and opportunities before they're handed to
  you, and you act on them.
• A strong drive for teamwork: you collaborate across functions, share context
  generously, and lift the people around you rather than optimizing solo.
• The ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and
  make trade-offs legible to the business
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, mentoring mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP in particular (Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage / buckets).
• Working knowledge of Python (the team has Python components).
• Working knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience with document generation / rendering pipelines (PDF, XLS/CSV,
  templated reports).
• Familiarity with the financial domain, index data, or reporting for financial
  institutions and regulatory bodies.
• Experience designing and exposing public APIs for external clients
