We’re looking for a Senior Elixir Fullstack Engineer to join our empowered product team, building simple, elegant software from complex requirements.
This is real product work - meaningful, fast-paced, and focused on impact.
We’re a small, hands‑on team that owns a single product end to end.
Start date: December 1, 2025 or January 5, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a high-quality, maintainable codebase written in Elixir with Phoenix, LiveView, TailwindCSS and daisyUI.
- Prototype early and often, encouraging autonomy and forward movement.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other Engineers to find smart solutions that balance speed, quality, and simplicity.
- Shape our architecture for reliability, scalability, and developer happiness—building a long‑term platform.
- Build a clean, maintainable and tested codebase.
- Take ownership of privacy and security aspects from the start—encryption, data separation, and GDPR compliance are part of the product, not an afterthought.
- Contribute ideas to improve our development process, stack, and team culture.
Nice to have (but not required)
- Experience with handling sensitive data, ideally health‑related data.
- Solid understanding of encryption, key management, and data privacy.
- Knowledge of DevOps and hosting environments.
- Familiarity with Shape Up as an outcome‑driven, autonomy‑based approach for agile software development.
Your Application
We’re a tightly knit, empowered product team that values clear, thoughtful communication over volume – so please read the following carefully and keep your communication clear, concise, and human.
In your cover letter
- Share your motivation for applying.
- Tell us why this role fits your way of working.
- Share a project where you built something simple from complex requirements.
- Optionally, tell us how you’ve dealt with privacy/security challenges before.
What we’re looking for
A concise CV highlighting your most relevant roles, with clear responsibilities and impact.
Optionally: a small portfolio or repo snippet that shows your code, architecture thinking, or side projects you’re proud of.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer, ideally with Elixir or another Ruby‑like language.
- Balance pragmatism with craftsmanship – care about code quality without sacrificing delivery.
- Love working in small, empowered teams where you can shape both product and engineering.
- Product mindset: explore unclear areas instead of waiting for perfect specs.
- Understand basics of GDPR and secure software design.
- Curious, reflective, and enjoy learning—including from failed experiments.
- Professional‑level English required; German is a plus.
- Remote work possible, hybrid in Berlin preferred.
