smartclip Europe GmbH in Berlin is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (f/m/d) specializing in React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js. You will work at the intersection of AI, engineering, UX and product to build production-grade software across the UI and backend, and shape how users will interact with AI-powered interfaces.

The role emphasizes thinking like a Product Builder, collaborating with Product, UX/UI and Engineering, and owning the end-to-end solution.

Qualifications

• AI is part of how you work, using it to explore ideas and write code while reviewing output critically.
• Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js and understanding of how modern web apps fit together.
• Hands-on experience building and integrating REST APIs and working with SQL databases.
• Care about code quality, architecture, performance, scalability and maintainability.
• Think beyond the code, own the solution, and communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Bonus: AWS, Jenkins, Grafana, Graylog, Confluence, Jira or shell scripting.

Your Mission

Build real, production-ready applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js – from the UI to APIs and services.

Create new ways for people to interact with our products through AI-powered interfaces, conversational UIs and agent workflows.

Use AI to work smarter and faster. Experiment, build and test with AI, but always think for yourself and take responsibility for the code you ship.

Understand the problem before jumping into code. Get curious about users, challenge assumptions and find solutions that make a real difference.

Make good technical decisions. Build scalable architectures, work confidently across the stack and know when to keep things simple.

Work closely with Product, UX/UI and Engineering to build software that works well, performs reliably and is easy to maintain.

You’re not here just to turn tickets into components. You want to understand the problem, figure out the right solution and build something people actually use.

Qualifications

Your Skills

AI is part of how you work. You use AI to explore ideas, write code and solve problems, while reviewing its output critically and taking responsibility for what you ship.

Have strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js and understand how modern web applications fit together.

Know your way around APIs and databases. You have hands‑on experience building and integrating REST APIs, working with SQL databases and making sound decisions about data structures and database design. GraphQL is a plus.

Care about code quality. You consider architecture, performance, scalability and maintainability, spot edge cases and take testing seriously. Hands‑on experience with Jest, Vitest or Node.js testing is essential.

Think beyond the code and take ownership. You understand the problem you’re solving, can explain your technical decisions and work independently to find the right solution. Experience with AI‑first interfaces, agent workflows or natural‑language products is a plus.

Bonus: AWS, Jenkins, Grafana, Graylog, Confluence, Jira or shell scripting.
