Job summary

Redcare Pharmacy is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to shape how AI transforms workflows across the company. You will work within the central Data & AI organization alongside teams across Data Science, AI Engineering, ML Engineering, MLOps, and Data Engineering.

You will combine strong software engineering with applied AI to design, build and operate agentic AI systems that improve business processes. Generative AI expertise and deep stakeholder engagement are key to success.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Git, automated testing, containers and CI/CD.
• Solid applied AI understanding with Generative AI, agentic systems, tool use and production concerns.
• Broad technical curiosity with ability to learn fast while keeping high engineering standards.
• Strong business judgement, communication and collaboration to solve problems as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Understand business processes and problems in depth and identify where AI, software, and process change can create meaningful value.
• Shape solutions with stakeholders, looking beyond the initial request to ensure real impact.
• Design, build and evolve production-grade software and agentic AI systems turning redesigned processes into working solutions.

About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to join Redcare Pharmacy as a Forward Deployed AI Engineer and shape how AI changes the way work gets done across the company. The team is part of Redcare’s central Data & AI organisation, alongside teams across Data Science, AI Engineering, ML Engineering, MLOps, and Data Engineering.
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will work closely with business units and stakeholders to understand operational challenges, rethink the underlying processes, and build the technology needed to make those changes real.
You will combine strong engineering fundamentals and applied AI expertise with business judgement and stakeholder skills. Generative AI and agentic systems are a core part of the work. You need to be able to go deep on both sides of the problem, from understanding how a process really works to building and operating the technology that changes it.

Modern Machine Learning frameworks, Generative AI and agentic technologies, scalable data platforms, cloud infrastructure, containers and CI/CD tooling that support building, deploying and operating AI-powered business processes in production.

About your tasks:

• Understand business processes and problems in depth and identify where AI, software, and process change can create meaningful value.
• Shape solutions together with stakeholders, looking beyond the initial request to understand what will actually improve the way work gets done.
• Design, build and evolve production-grade software and agentic AI systems that turn redesigned business processes into working solutions.
• Develop and integrate applications, APIs, data, AI components and agentic workflows using strong software engineering practices across development, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Take problems from discovery through experimentation and implementation, staying involved until the redesigned process works in practice and delivers business value.
• Ensure the solutions you build can be evaluated, monitored, and operated reliably in production.

Qualifications

About you:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands‑on experience building and shipping AI-enabled applications or systems, including core engineering practices such as Git, automated testing, containers, and CI/CD.
• Solid applied AI understanding, with practical knowledge of Generative AI, agentic systems, tool use, evaluation, observability, failure modes, and production concerns.
• Broad technical curiosity and the ability to get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar technologies and domains, while maintaining high engineering standards and going deeper when the problem requires it.
• Strong business judgement, communication, and collaboration skills, with an interest in understanding how work actually happens and solving complex problems as part of an engineering team.
