Zusammenfassung

The company is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority in the field, ensuring reliable operation of MRI-based systems at customer sites and labs. You will own end-to-end resolution of complex service incidents, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to maintenance playbooks.

Travel up to 70% across the EU; a European driver’s license is required. You will diagnose and resolve high-stakes issues, coordinate with suppliers, and provide technical feedback

Qualifikationen

• Significant hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, or automation issues in industrial/field-service environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, AutoCAD, and automation/networking concepts (PLC, Modbus).
• Final escalation point for urgent, unplanned technical issues with autonomous decision-making under time pressure.
• Experience mentoring/training less experienced technical colleagues.
• Experience creating or improving maintenance SOPs, checklists, or maintenance processes.
• Willing to travel extensively and handle short-notice dispatches, including weekends or after-hours.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Italian proficiency is a plus.
• German and/or Spanish are additional pluses.

Your RoleAs a Senior Field Service Engineer, you are the senior technical authority in the field for keeping the company's systems running reliably, at customer sites and in our own labs. You own the end-to-end resolution of complex, unplanned service incidents from start to finish, acting as the escalation point when others can't crack a problem. You adapt solutions to local site conditions, mentor junior Field Engineers, and help build the maintenance playbooks that don't fully exist yet. You're also fully qualified to guide installation efforts when the team needs additional senior capacity, making you one of the most versatile and trusted members of our Field Operations team.

Note: Travel is required up to 70% (mainly in the EU); a European driver's license is required.

Your Day-to-Day Own end-to-end diagnosis and resolution of complex, previously unresolved, or urgent service incidents at customer sites and in our internal labs, without needing to escalation for a resolution.

• Act as the primary escalation point for difficult repairs raised by junior Field Engineers or Field Service Engineers, and the go-to technical contact for suppliers/partners on-site.

• Thoughtfully tailor maintenance and troubleshooting approaches to local site conditions, documenting the rationale for any deviation from standard procedure.

• Own the creation and continuous improvement of maintenance and service SOPs/checklists, driving the PDCA cycle for the servicing function.

• Mentor and coach junior Field Engineers/Field Service Engineers on troubleshooting best practices and technical judgment.

• Lead Site Visit Checklist execution and technical problem-solving during installation and upgrade projects when deployed as senior surge capacity.

• Act as the primary technical feedback loop to Engineering, interpreting field/lab findings, escalating risks, and proposing solutions rather than just reporting raw data.

Your responsibilities include:

Trusted to own the technical resolution of complex, high-stakes service incidents from first response through root cause, supplier coordination, and documentation, while serving as the senior technical anchor for the wider Field Operations team across both servicing and installation work.

Your Experience and SkillsYou have significant, hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, or automation issues in an industrial or field-service environment, ideally including experience as the senior/primary troubleshooter on a team.

• You have strong working knowledge of electrical diagrams, AutoCAD, and automation/networking concepts (PLC, Modbus, or similar).

• You are comfortable being the final escalation point for urgent, unplanned technical issues, making autonomous, well-reasoned decisions under time pressure without waiting for sign-off.

• You have experience mentoring, training, or informally guiding less experienced technical colleagues.

• You have experience creating or improving technical SOPs, checklists, or maintenance processes, not just executing them.

• You are willing to travel extensively and can react to short-notice, urgent dispatch needs, including occasional weekend or after-hours support.

• You hold, or are willing to obtain, relevant electrical/technical certifications (e.g. EFK-equivalent).

• You are fluent in English (written and spoken), our working language.

• You are fluent in Italian (written and spoken), enabling direct, seamless support for our growing base of Italian customers and sites.
