What you will do
  • Development of microtechnological processes for the lithographic production of, for example, ultrafast photodiodes or photomixers as THz antennas
  • In particular, development of microtechnological processes using micro-transfer printing
  • Detailed characterization and analysis of the manufactured photonic THz components
  • Technical support for the micro-transfer printing system at HHI
  • Design, initiation and collaboration in national and international research projects and implementation of development projects together with industrial partners
What you bring to the table
  • Completed scientific university degree and PhD in physics, electrical engineering or a related field
  • Excellent knowledge and proven, multi-year experience in microtechnological process engineering (including lithography, etching processes, deposition of metals/dielectrics) of InP-based III‑V semiconductors
  • Ideally, in-depth knowledge in the field of micro-transfer printing
  • Excellent knowledge in the field of analytics (SEM, AFM, FIB, C‑V, XRD, SIMS, Hall effect measurements, etc.)
  • Proven experience in the independent development of microtechnological processes
  • Sound knowledge and experience in applying for and carrying out research projects
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external partners and customers
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Ability to work independently and on your own initiative
  • Strategic thinking, organization and coordination, results‑oriented

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part‑time basis.
