Role Overview

As an Senior EHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the Project Manager and ensuring that all project activities comply with Mercury’s safety standards, statutory regulations, and client expectations. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust EHS systems across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain EHS management systems across all project phases.
• Grow the Project EHS team in Dresden as required by the project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Mercury Engineering’s Safety Management System and relevant statutory EHS legislation.
• Coordinate the development of method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permits to work.
• Monitor and report on project safety indicators and ensure good safety practices are upheld.
• Conduct ongoing COSHH assessments and manage hazardous substances.
• Perform regular site audits and inspections, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.
• Provide EHS input at site meetings and forums, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
• Advise management, safety representatives, and employees on EHS matters.
• Maintain records of statutory inspections for tools, plant, and project activities.
• Coordinate site inductions, training, and ensure PPE availability.
• Organise & lead toolbox talks and assist in accident investigations and reporting.
• Ensure welfare and hygiene facilities are properly managed.
• Support waste reduction and recycling initiatives in line with project policies.

Essential Criteria

• Third‑level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
• Minimum of 3 years’ site‑based EHS experience.
• Strong knowledge of current EHS legislation and best practices.

• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung des Safety Management Systems von Mercury Engineering sowie aller relevanten gesetzlichen EHS‑Vorschriften.
• Koordination der Erstellung von Methodenerklärungen, Risikobewertungen, Arbeitsanweisungen und Arbeitserlaubnissen.
• Überwachung und Berichterstattung über sicherheitsrelevante Projektkennzahlen sowie Sicherstellung guter Sicherheitspraktiken.
• Durchführung laufender COSHH‑Bewertungen und Verwaltung gefährlicher Stoffe.
• Regelmäßige Audits und Inspektionen auf der Baustelle, Dokumentation der Ergebnisse und Einleitung von Korrekturmaßnahmen.
• Einbringung von EHS‑Perspektiven in Baustellenbesprechungen und Foren, Identifizierung von Risiken und Empfehlung von Verbesserungen.
• Beratung von Management, Sicherheitsbeauftragten und Mitarbeitenden in EHS‑Angelegenheiten.
• Führung von Aufzeichnungen über gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Inspektionen von Werkzeugen, Geräten und Projektaktivitäten.
• Koordination von Sicherheitsunterweisungen, Schulungen und Sicherstellung der Verfügbarkeit von PSA.
• Organisation und Leitung von Toolbox Talks sowie Unterstützung bei Unfalluntersuchungen und Berichterstattung.
• Sicherstellung der ordnungsgemäßen Verwaltung von Sozial‑ und Hygieneeinrichtungen.
• Unterstützung von Abfallreduktions‑ und Recyclinginitiativen gemäß den Projektvorgaben.

Erforderliche Qualifikationen

• Hochschulabschluss im Bereich Umwelt, Gesundheit & Sicherheit (EHS).
• Mindestens 3 Jahre Erfahrung im EHS‑Bereich auf Baustellen.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse der aktuellen EHS‑Gesetzgebung und Best Practices.
• Fähigkeit, EHS‑Themen selbstständig und proaktiv zu managen.
• Hervorragende Kommunikations- und Computerkenntnisse.
• Flexible und anpassungsfähige Arbeitsweise.
