Precision Medicine Group in Berlin is seeking a Senior Director of Molecular Sciences to lead the molecular services team and shape the scientific vision of the laboratory. Reporting to the Berlin Site Head, you will drive strategic planning, technology assessment and the development and validation of molecular assays, including DNA methylation and epigenetics.

You will mentor staff, coordinate translational projects for global biopharma clients, ensure data quality and compliance with GxP/ISO

Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in Genomics/Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cellular/Cancer Biology, Immunology or related field.
• 18+ years of relevant laboratory experience in Molecular Biology.
• 10+ years of leadership experience.
• ISO 15189 laboratory experience.
• Strong understanding of current GxP/ISO standards.
• Expert level technical skills in molecular technologies (NGS, qPCR, extraction).
• Ability to supervise scientific staff and manage data.
• Fluent in English and German.

Due to our continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director Molecular Sciences to join our team on site in Berlin.

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Molecular Sciences will lead the molecular services team, help create the scientific vision and overall direction of the Precision for Medicine (PFM) laboratory molecular services business unit. Reporting to the Berlin Site Head this role includes formulating and implementing a strategic scientific plan, including technology assessment, to support translational research in helping PFM achieve its goals of delivering innovative services to Precision's global biopharmaceutical clients. Key responsibilities will be focused on the design, development and validation of molecular assays including the management of assignedteamto ensure efficient organization and execution of experiments to generate high quality data. The Director must demonstrate both technical and scientific leadership as well as exceptional skills in building and leading a multi-faceted team in a competitive landscape. This position will be fully responsiblefor theimplementation of molecular services, including DNA methylation and other epigenetic approaches.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Genomics/Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cellular/Cancer Biology, Immunology or other related field
• Should ideally have at least18 years of relevant laboratory experience in Molecular Biology
• Should ideally have at least10 years of leadership experience
• ISO 15189 laboratory experience
• A solid understanding of current GxP/ISO/ standards

Other Required:

• Expert level technical and scientific skills for molecular technologies such as NGS, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction and quantification etc.
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Experience supervising scientific staff as direct reports.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
• Must have the ability to organize and analyze data, as well as prepare reports
• Must possess strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad and Prism
• Must have next generation sequencing (NGS) experience using a variety of technologies
• Excellent use of judgement and discretion required
• Extended work hours may be occasionally necessary to meet business demands
• Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English and German language

Preferred:

• Demonstrated skills in various molecular scientific assays, clinical trial knowledge especially in oncology
