WORK Microwave GmbH in Holzkirchen near Munich is seeking an experienced FPGA engineer to drive design from concept to delivery. You will work with VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog, collaborate across hardware, software, and system teams, and contribute to high-speed data processing projects.

The role requires 5+ years in FPGA design, strong HDL skills, and hands-on FPGA verification. You will join an international, innovative environment with modern workplaces and flexible working options.

Qualifikationen

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in FPGA digital design, preferably in a telecommunications or high-performance computing environment.
• Strong proficiency in VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Digital design principles including FSMs, pipelining, CDC, timing analysis, and timing closure.
• In-depth knowledge of modern FPGA technologies, especially AMD/Xilinx devices and tools.
• Experience with FPGA simulation and verification using tools such as QuestaSim, ModelSim, or equivalent.
• Experience with hardware/software co-design.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Experience with FPGA simulation and verification using tools such as QuestaSim, ModelSim, or equivalent
• Experience with hardware/software co-design
• Experience with version control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms in FPGA, such as FEC decoders, digital filters, FFTs, DDC/DUC, and high-throughput processing pipelines
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet (100G/400G), AXI4/AXI4-Stream, Aurora, JESD204B/C, and DDR memory interfaces
• Experience with FPGA verification methodologies and frameworks such as UVM, UVVM, OSVVM, or cocotb
• Programming experience in Python, TCL, or C/C++
• Experience with FPGA-based communication, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
