Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end responsibility for backend services and their operation
• Develop robust, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Automate infrastructure and platform components using Terraform
• Manage GitLab CI pipelines for build, tests, security checks, and deployment
• Analyze system behavior in operation and enhance observability, resilience, and stability

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in backend engineering, preferably with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong operations/SRE background with a sense of responsibility for service operations
• Solid experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and managing production-critical clusters
• Proficiency in AWS or other cloud providers with independent implementation of platform and infrastructure projects
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and consistent automation of infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building and maintaining GitLab CI pipelines and automated deployments
• Familiarity with modern service architecture concepts such as domain slicing, resilience, observability, and clean interfaces
• Strong teamwork skills with open communication and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
• Proficiency in both German and English
