About the Company
For an internationally growing tech company based in Munich, we are looking for a (Senior) DevOps Engineer (m/f/d).
The company is an established scale-up, developing a modern, cloud-based platform serving millions of users worldwide. Its technical infrastructure is heavily focused on AWS and Kubernetes and provides the foundation for numerous production services and applications.
The role sits at the heart of DevOps / Platform Engineering. The DevOps team operates with a high degree of ownership and supports a large engineering organisation. We are therefore not looking for a software developer with some DevOps responsibilities, but for a hands-on DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineer with strong experience in cloud infrastructure and production Kubernetes environments.
A particularly exciting aspect of the role is the scale of the environment: you will work with a large AWS-native infrastructure and a production Kubernetes environment of approximately 200 nodes.
Your Responsibilities
Your Profile
What matters most: You should not only know how a technology is used, but also be able to explain why a particular technical solution was chosen.
For example, you should be able to explain which alternatives you considered, what trade-offs were involved, and why you chose a specific architecture or AWS service.
Your Profile Is Particularly Interesting If You Also Bring
What We Offer
Why This Role Is Exciting
This position gives you the opportunity to actively shape a central cloud and Kubernetes platform while taking on significant technical responsibility.
The DevOps team has a deliberately broad scope. In addition to AWS and Kubernetes, its responsibilities include Infrastructure as Code, observability, automation, security, and cost optimisation.
You will not be limited to a small part of the infrastructure. Instead of working in a highly siloed environment, you will be expected to look at problems holistically, make technical decisions independently, and implement solutions end-to-end.
The combination of technical depth and significant impact makes this role particularly interesting: you will work hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform while also having the opportunity to shape standards, platforms, and automation for the long term.
We are looking for someone who is technically strong enough to make well-founded platform decisions, operate production systems reliably, and solve complex problems in a structured way — someone who understands not only the how, but above all the why behind technical decisions.
