Planet Pharma in Germany is seeking an experienced Senior Database & Systems Administrator to join its IT Infrastructure team. You will manage enterprise database environments, optimize performance, and support data warehouses and virtualization in a highly regulated manufacturing setting.

The role covers SQL Server, Oracle, VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure. German language fluency and good English communication are required.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Experience with database administration: Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database.
• Experience with data warehouses and reporting solutions.

About the Opportunity

We are supporting a leading international pharmaceutical manufacturer in the search for an experienced Senior Database & Systems Administrator to join its growing IT Infrastructure team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing critical business systems within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The successful individual will be responsible for database administration, systems infrastructure, virtualization platforms, IT security, and supporting strategic technology initiatives across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned infrastructure professional looking to work in a complex enterprise environment where reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, maintain, and optimise enterprise database environments and supporting hardware.
• Administer and support database technologies, primarily Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Coordinate and maintain data warehouse and reporting solutions, including associated integrations and interfaces.
• Support and administer virtualized infrastructure environments.
• Contribute to the management and continuous improvement of core IT infrastructure services.
• Participate in and, where appropriate, lead infrastructure and systems-related projects.
• Provide technical support and escalation across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support activities.
• Evaluate and improve system performance, availability, resilience, and security.
• Create and maintain technical documentation in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance standards, data protection requirements, and regulated industry expectations.

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with database administration, including:
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Oracle Database
• Data Warehouse technologies
• Proven experience managing and supporting server and infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of:
• VMware
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• DNS
• DHCP
• Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous:
• Linux
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Google Workspace
• Citrix
• Backup & Recovery solutions
• Network Administration
• GMP-regulated environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent German language skills and good English communication skills.
