Your Role

As(Senior) Data Scientist / AI/ ML Engineer - Energy Grid Forecast (all genders)you will be part of a cross functional engineering squad with strong knowledge in energy grid calculations,time series data processing and AI-based forecasting. Your and your squads mission is to developtime series forecasts for grid congestions in low voltage grids. Based on weather forecasts, historical data, external sensor data and a digital twin model of the electricity grid, your team will prepare a prognosis of expected grid utilizations, provide them to external stakeholders via APIs and develop an user interface to visualize these results within our software product. Within your role, you will drive the energy transition in an innovative project and directly influence the experience of our users, our organization, and our engineering practices.

How You Make an Impact

• You are part of a cross-functional team (backend, frontend, data, ML, Product) and develop an innovative product which actively drives the energy transition
• You design, refine, and implement AI/ML models to produce time series forecasts based on various input data such as weather forecasts, historical power data or external sensor data in accordancewiththe current state of technologyandbestpractices
• Youdevelopstrategic pathways for evolving the product's tech stack tostate of the artsolutions, especially in the area of AI/ML technologies and workflows
• Youare part of theconceptualizingand developing ofprofessional software solutions to continuously evolveourproduct in an agile working environmenttogetherwith the other cross-functionalsquadsin the engineering department
• You have ambitious quality objectives and accompany the entire development process, from concept over implementation through testing to go-live

Your Profile

• You have +2 years of relevant experience in web application development with a focus on AI-based forecasting, Machine Learning and/or time series data processing.
• You are knowledgeable in different technologies and methodologies regarding time series forecasts or graph machine learning
• You are familiar withsignificant parts of our techstack (especially Python), with current software design principlesand are looking forward to keeping up with current industry best practices
• You are a team player and passionate about working with talented and inspiring people
• You are looking for technical challenges and pride yourself in finding smart and creative solutions
• You are eager and passionate about writingstate of the artsoftware as major part of your daily work
• You are business-fluent in English (Level C1)
• Optionally, you are experienced in one of the following topics: cloud technologies (Azure), data science, Kubernetes, frontend development or energy grid modeling
