Design the APIs, services, and data flows that hold the evidence-first platform together.

About the role

You will own core backend services — orchestration, ingestion, audit, and access control — with strong typing, clear contracts, and observability baked in. Code that lawyers, auditors, and analysts will quietly depend on.

What you'll do

• Design and ship FastAPI services and event-driven workflows
• Own data models in Postgres with strong RLS and access control
• Build the audit-trail and append-only evidence stores
• Define API contracts, error semantics, and backwards-compatible evolution
• Partner with AI/MLOps to expose retrieval and reasoning safely to the frontend

What we look for

• 5+ years building backend systems in Python and/or TypeScript
• Strong with FastAPI (or equivalent), PostgreSQL, Redis, and async patterns
• Solid understanding of authn/authz, RLS, and multi-tenant data isolation
• Pragmatic about testing, observability, and migrations
• Track record of owning services in production, not just shipping features

Nice to have

• Experience with Supabase / managed Postgres + Edge Functions
• Background in regulated SaaS (legal, financial, healthcare)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, Redis Streams)
