NKG seeks a Senior Architect to lead Azure platform design and integration capabilities across our global products. You will steer API standards, REST/OpenAPI contracts, and message-driven integrations using Kafka or Service Bus, while shaping reusable IaC patterns with Terraform/Bicep and CI/CD pipelines.

Fluency in English and German is required, with hands-on delivery, architectural leadership and strong collaboration with IT Ops, Security, and data teams.

**Senior Architect (f/m/d) Azure Platform & Integration** to join our team at the earliest possible date. Reliable platforms and system integrations are essential to how NKG delivers digital products across its global business. We are building shared Azure platform capabilities, REST APIs and event-driven integrations that product and application teams can reuse. To set the technical direction and turn these standards into working solutions, we are looking for an experienced Azure Platform & Integration Architect. **Your responsibilities** * **Technical direction:** Lead the technical design, delivery and evolution of shared Azure platform and integration capabilities.* **Integration standards:** Set practical standards for REST APIs, OpenAPI contracts, Azure API Management and message-driven integrations using Apache Kafka or Azure Service Bus.* **Platform foundations:** Establish reusable patterns for Azure infrastructure as code, CI/CD, application hosting, security, observability and operational readiness.* **Hands-on delivery:** Contribute hands-on to complex implementation work, design reviews, troubleshooting and incident learning.* **Integration reliability:** Ensure integrations address contracts, versioning, authentication, retries, dead-letter handling, ordering and idempotency.* **Engineering enablement:** Coach engineers, enable decisions at the lowest appropriate level and reduce knowledge silos.* **Cross-functional delivery:** Work with the Technical Product Manager, IT Operations and Security, Data & Reporting and other teams to resolve dependencies and make technical risks visible.**Your profile** * **Azure expertise:** Strong hands-on experience designing, building and operating production systems on Microsoft Azure.* **Technical leadership:** Experience leading technical design and architecture decisions while remaining close to implementation.* **API expertise:** Strong experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI and API lifecycle management.* **Event-driven integration:** Experience with asynchronous messaging and message brokers such as Apache Kafka or Azure Service Bus.* **Platform engineering:** Experience with Azure infrastructure as code using Bicep or Terraform, CI/CD, observability and cloud security.* **Software craftsmanship:** Strong software engineering skills in at least one modern programming language.* **Collaboration:** Clear communication, pragmatic judgement and experience coaching engineers without relying on formal authority.* **Language proficiency:** Fluency in both English and German is required; Spanish language skills are an advantage.**Our staff appreciates** * **Maritime atmosphere:** You can expect a modern working environment in a central location with views of the Elbphilharmonie.* **Flexible work:** Our hybrid work models are characterized by flexible working hours and the option to work remotely.* **Development opportunities:** Benefit from an annual professional development budget of €2,000 and a wide range of professional and personal training opportunities.* **Climate-friendly commuting:** We subsidize the HVV ProfiTicket and JobRad.* **Additional benefits:** We offer an attractive company pension scheme and discounted lunch options.* **Come together:** Whether at summer parties, Christmas dinners, or in our coffee lounge, a family-like atmosphere and cross-disciplinary exchange are an integral part of our culture.**Have we sparked your interest?** We are pleased to receive your application documents.
