Holidu GmbH is seeking a senior backend software engineer to own end-to-end problem spaces, shipping fast with agentic coding and AI tooling. You will work on multi-agent systems at scale, collaborating with a fast-moving team inside Holidu’s 200-person Engineering organization.

You’ll help shape how AI-driven assistants handle thousands of live conversations across channels, contribute to system design, and own production systems with responsibilities for reliability and performance.

Your future team

We're looking for senior software engineers who multiply their impact through agentic coding. You'll own entire problem spaces, ship fast by leveraging tools like Claude Code, and work on the most strategic parts of Holidu's future. You'll build AI agents that serve Holidu's 4M guests and 55k+ hosts, and shape what's possible with AI in the vacation rental space.

The Context

Holidu connects 4 million guests with 55k+ vacation rental hosts every year. Our Agentic Experience team is a small, fast-moving group inside Holidu's 200-person Engineering organization, rethinking how users interact with our platform using AI, how we build applications, and how we design agentic systems, with a lot of first-principles thinking along the way.

Today our agents handle thousands of real conversations across WhatsApp, email, in-product chat, and the help center, with the surface area expanding into adjacent products and internal tools. We're not running playbooks or following standard processes. We innovate and move radically fast.

Your role in this journey

Own problems, not tickets. You won't be handed a backlog. You'll be handed challenges like "our hosts spend too much time on guest communication" or "we need to understand why conversion drops here" and you'll figure out what to build.

Compound your impact. We measure output in customer impact, not lines of code. You'll take entire problem spaces from idea to production, often in days, and use agentic coding to keep raising your own throughput.

Work at the frontier. You'll design multi-agent systems with tool calling, handoffs, and production evals that handle thousands of real conversations, automate complex workflows, and push the boundaries of what's possible with LLMs in production.

Decide what's worth building. You won't just argue for the right tool. You'll argue for the right problem. We expect you to push back on roadmaps that don't make sense and propose ones that do. Our stack runs on Kotlin/Java, AWS, Kubernetes, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis, with workflow-automation tooling and the Model Context Protocol stitching agents to the rest of the platform, across several repos. You won't hesitate to introduce the right tool for tomorrow.

Your backpack is filled with

• A product mindset. You think in products, not features, and ask "what problem are we solving?" before "what should I build?".

• Comfort with ambiguity, energized by ownership.

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including time spent owning systems beyond the feature you shipped last.

• Deep fluency with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with a clear sense of where they help, where they don't, and how to compound their impact across everything you build.

• A track record of shipping production systems and the experience to keep them running.

• Strong fundamentals across systems design, reliability, and production operations (we mostly use Kotlin, but the language matters less than the thinking).

• Clear communication with code, in documents, and in conversation.
