appliedAI Initiative GmbH is seeking a Senior AI Consultant to own strategic engagements for DAX to Mittelstand clients. You will lead multi-workstream delivery, shape AI strategies, and coach delivery teams while engaging senior stakeholders across corporate landscapes in Europe.

The role requires 6+ years in strategy consulting and hands-on AI experience, plus fluency in English and German. Hybrid work with offices in Munich or Heilbronn is offered, plus a suite of benefits.

Your mission

We're looking for a Senior AI Consultant ready to take ownership of strategic AI engagements with our partner companies - from DAX corporations to leading “Mittelstand” businesses. You'll become the day-to-day face of delivery for your clients and the go-to owner for a focus topic internally, designing solutions for novel and ambiguous problems while coaching the people around you. You'll work closely with our (Technical) AI Consultants, AI Engineers, and adjacent teams such as Enablement & Change and Trustworthy AI.

Your tasks will include:

• Own delivery end-to-end across scoping, planning, staffing, execution, and risk - orchestrating multi-workstream engagements and creating clarity for the team in ambiguous situations
• Drive the development and implementation of AI strategies, effective operating models, and high-value (agentic) AI use case portfolios for DAX and “Mittelstand” clients
• Navigate and align the full stakeholder landscape, facilitating resolution of conflicting agendas and delivering difficult messages diplomatically - building relationships where you're seen as a partner, not a vendor
• Lead cross-functional project teams, assign responsibilities, coach team members, and create teachable moments
• Identify expansion opportunities during delivery, contribute to proposals with meaningful ownership, and supply credible sizing, staffing, and timeline options while protecting margin
• Build a recognized specialization in a topic or industry, design custom approaches for novel client situations, and stay at the frontier of state-of-the-art AI research and emerging capabilities
• Co-own topics within the Strategy & Transformation team, develop assets that scale our offering, and share patterns and lessons learned through case shares

Your profile

• An outstanding academic record in a business- or tech-related subject
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Strategy Consulting and/or Management Consulting, with a track record of owning complex projects end-to-end
• Hands-on experience applying AI within companies, combining strategic project management with strong technical expertise
• Resilience in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, with the judgement and composure to keep a team focused through rapid iteration
• A business development mindset and strong awareness of stakeholder dynamics - able to navigate and align conflicting interests among senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills - translate complex AI topics into business impact for any audience, from C-Level to operational teams
• Fluent in English and German, communicating confidently with both customers and colleagues in either language
