Qualifikationen

• Execute monthly General Ledger entries and close activities under HGB and US GAAP.

• Execute monthly General Ledger (GL) entries and all closing activities — both statutory (German GAAP) and US GAAP — ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely submission within established deadlines.
• Manage the end-to-end payroll process for the German entity in full compliance with local labor law, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Own corporate and local tax filings and declarations, coordinating with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with German tax requirements and alignment with US group reporting.
• Maintain the fixed assets register — including additions, disposals, depreciation runs, and reconciliations — in Oracle ERP to support accurate financial reporting.
• Deliver statutory closing activities in accordance with German Commercial Code (HGB) requirements, ensuring timely and compliant year-end and interim reporting.
• Coordinate day-to-day accounting activities within a small team, providing guidance, task allocation, and quality review to maintain operational continuity during the coverage period.
• Collaborate with the US-based finance leadership and corporate controllers to meet group reporting requirements, flag risks proactively, and support audit readiness.
• Implement process improvements and standardize documentation to support a smooth transition upon the return of permanent team members.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

These are the must-have requirements for the role:

• Experience in accounting or finance roles with demonstrated proficiency in both US GAAP and German GAAP (HGB) reporting.
• Proven track record of independently managing monthly close cycles, including GL entries, reconciliations, and statutory and management reporting.
• Experience with payroll processing, fixed asset accounting, and tax compliance in a German legal entity.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle ERP (Finance modules), with demonstrated ability to execute core accounting workflows efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a US-based corporate environment, including agility with fast-paced timelines, matrix structures, and cross-cultural collaboration.
• Proven experience coordinating or guiding a small accounting team, with the ability to prioritize workloads and maintain quality standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional qualification).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Veralto or Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and continuous improvement frameworks.
