Job Overview: Senior 3D Artist (Generalist / Environment)

You will play a key role in building the world of our next mobile title: a semi-realistic, top-down survival game for the mid-casual market. The game is based on a known IP.

You will collaborate closely with designers and developers to ensure visual quality and performance.

Our pipeline uses Blender, Substance Painter, Unity, and AI-assisted workflows (especially for texturing).

Key Responsibilities
  • Environment & Prop Creation: Create high-quality 3D environment assets (props, set dressing, modular kits, terrain) that support top-down gameplay readability and a grounded semi-realistic style.

  • Full Asset Pipeline Ownership: Handle the complete workflow from blockout to final implementation: modeling, UVs, baking, texturing, export, and Unity setup.

  • AI-Assisted Texturing & Material Work: Use AI tools for texture generation, then refine and polish results.

  • Unity Implementation: Set up assets in Unity (prefabs, materials, settings, collisions) and support world building and level dressing in-engine.

  • Optimization & Mobile Performance: Create assets with mobile constraints in mind (polycount, texture budgets, draw calls, LODs, reuse).

  • Collaboration Across Teams: Partner with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure environments support gameplay clarity, performance, and engagement goals.

  • Visual Iteration & Feedback: Iterate quickly based on art direction, feedback, and evolving gameplay needs.

  • Maintain Visual Consistency: Help establish and maintain a cohesive environment style, pipeline standards, and asset library consistency.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in 3D art, ideally within mobile games or performance-constrained real-time projects.

  • Tools & Workflow: Strong proficiency in Blender, Photoshop, Substance Painter, and Unity, with a practical production mindset.

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showing game-ready environments and props, demonstrating clean modeling, strong materials, and in-engine presentation.

  • PBR Understanding: Solid grasp of PBR workflows and material definition.

  • Optimization Mindset: Experience building assets that are efficient and scalable for mobile.

  • AI Workflow Familiarity: Comfortable using AI-assisted tools for texturing and iteration, and guiding outputs.

  • Collaboration: Clear communication and the ability to work closely with a cross-functional team.

  • Passion for Gaming: A love for mobile games and an eye for what reads well in a top-down camera.

  • Technical Art Skills: Familiarity with Unity rendering/optimization, lightmapping, shader basics, profiling, and troubleshooting asset performance.

  • Modular Environments: Experience with modular kit creation, trim sheets, tileable materials, and LOD pipelines.
