  • Serve as a Boeing representative for stress, engineering and certification topics related to the integration of aircraft seating.
  • Perform analytical and finite element (FE) calculations, assess and predict structural failure modes, including execution of root cause analysis.
  • Compile structural substantiation documents and review data from our suppliers for integration approval of seats (all seat types, including those with unique features) into the airframe.
  • Work closely with Boeing teams and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure our products are delivered in the correct condition and quality.
What you bring to the table:
  • Basic qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s degree in Stress/Structures/Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

Experience in seat development and certification covering concept definition through approval, including test witnessing, familiarity with ETSO performance standards (i.e.: C127, C39 series), and working knowledge of STC processes for aircraft seats.
  • Knowledge: Show strong attention to detail with experience in aircraft interior modification programs, including certifying novel seat features such as pre-tensioners and air bags.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs with varying levels of requirements.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders (i.e.: suppliers and customers). Willingness to help, develop, mentor and coach less experienced staff.
