NewSpace Technical in Germany seeks a Senior Satellite Systems Engineer to own system-level engineering across the spacecraft lifecycle, from mission definition through to integration, testing and launch.

You will influence mission design, system architecture and spacecraft development while working closely with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, with flexible office-based, hybrid or remote options within Germany.

Qualifikationen

• MSc or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Space Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 5+ years' experience in satellite systems engineering
• Experience with system-level engineering across multiple spacecraft development stages
• Experience in ECSS-compliant space programmes
• Familiarity with SRR, PDR, CDR, QR and AR reviews
• Experience on at least one satellite mission reaching operational service
• EU work authorisation

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate system-level engineering activities across satellite missions
• Support end-to-end mission design based on customer requirements
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and system architectures
• Contribute to development and improvement of mission design tools and processes
• Review spacecraft and subsystem designs from a system-level perspective
• Develop and maintain system budgets (power, link, data)
• Track system margins and ensure requirements are maintained
• Support technical reviews and engineering documentation throughout the lifecycle
• Support integration, verification, qualification and launch preparation
• Contribute to environmental test campaign planning and readiness reviews
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, customers and external partners
• Identify technical challenges and help develop new solutions for future missions

NewSpace Technical is working with an innovative and growing space technology company developing advanced solutions for the next generation of satellite missions.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Satellite Systems Engineer to take ownership of system-level engineering activities across the full spacecraft development lifecycle, from mission definition and requirements through to integration, testing and launch.

This is an opportunity to join a technically driven team where you will have a strong influence on mission design, system architecture and spacecraft development, while working closely with both customers and engineering teams.

The Role

As a Senior Satellite Systems Engineer, you will be involved in:

• Leading and coordinating system-level engineering activities across satellite missions
• Supporting end-to-end mission design based on customer and mission requirements
• Translating customer requirements into technical solutions and system architectures
• Contributing to the development and improvement of mission design tools and processes
• Reviewing spacecraft and subsystem designs from a system-level perspective
• Developing and maintaining system budgets, including power, link and data budgets
• Tracking system margins and ensuring requirements are maintained throughout development
• Supporting technical reviews and engineering documentation throughout the spacecraft lifecycle
• Supporting integration, verification, qualification and launch preparation
• Contributing to environmental test campaign planning and readiness reviews
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers and external partners
• Identifying technical challenges and helping develop new solutions for future space missions

What We’re Looking For

• MSc or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Space Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years' experience in satellite systems engineering
• Strong experience with system-level engineering across multiple stages of spacecraft development
• Experience working through development, integration, verification and qualification phases
• Experience working within ECSS-compliant space programmes
• Familiarity with formal engineering reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, QR and AR
• Experience contributing to at least one satellite mission that successfully reached operational service
• Strong systems engineering and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Valid EU work authorisation
• Willingness to travel when required, including for concentrated review and test campaigns
• Experience with Product Assurance / Safety activities
• Knowledge of FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analysis, RAMS or critical items management
• Experience in Earth Observation or other data-driven satellite missions
• Experience with SAR or other advanced imaging technologies
• Experience working directly with customers on mission requirements and technical solutions
