A leading company in space solutions located in Bonn is seeking a Satellite Operations Engineer. The role focuses on conducting routine flight operations and maintaining operational products for missions. Candidates should have a degree in aerospace, mathematics, or physics and 1 to 5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of German is a plus. The position involves on-site work in Bonn, Darmstadt, or Munich.
Position Description : CGI is a European leader in Space Ground Segment systems and services in the domains of Earth Observation Navigation Satellite Communications Space Safety and Mission Operations. We provide critical services and solutions to European & national agencies and institutions, the scientific community, the commercial sector as well as to the wider public. We are both major contributors to and act as thought leaders in several key European space initiatives including the Copernicus and Galileo programs designing and developing cutting edge solutions for our clients.
The European Space market is dynamic, evolving and rapidly growing. CGI is now looking to further expand our business in this area, building on our more than 40-year successful heritage. We are therefore seeking a Satellite Operations Engineer (m / f / d) to support this growth. This role requires a willingness to relocate with an initial on-site presence in Bonn. Subsequent work will likely be based in either Darmstadt or Munich depending on project requirements.
We are looking for an engineer to support the operations team for the German mission Heinrich Hertz (H2SAT) at our Spacecraft Control Center located in Bonn where the routine mission phase will be supported. As Operations Engineer you will prepare and conduct the satellite & ground segment operations covering a wide range of activities.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements.
A university degree in aerospace, mathematics, physics or equivalent
A demonstrated and consolidated experience with 1 to 5 years in the field of spacecraft operations or similar
Fluency in English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage
Highly motivated and able to learn independently.
Willingness and ability to work occasionally on-site in Bonn, Darmstadt or Munich
