We’re excited to be looking for an experienced Robotics Solutions Development Engineer to join our Global Flexible Automation. This role will focus on developing the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software, creating detailed design specifications and layouts for highly automated systems. You’ll also work cross‑functionally with internal and external customers around the world to understand their challenges and thoughtfully recommend robotic or automated solutions that address their needs.

Gather customer data and analyse/understand how the data drives the robotics and automation solution.
Create specific layout designs for the robotics solutions while integrating those within the larger automation system design.
Work with external suppliers when needed to develop robotic system designs and commercial estimates.
Act as trusted robotics advisor for both internal (Sales Execution Engineering Product Management) and external customers.
Lead highly complex technical discussions.
Transfer knowledge for processes and application of products to system design.
Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high‑impact complex and cross‑functional problems.
Solve complex design and software problems and create effective and cost‑efficient robotic/automated solutions.
Effectively manage and contribute to multiple projects across different time zones.
Travel globally up to 15% to support the role.
Educated to degree level in Robotics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted.
35 years of experience designing and estimating automation systems in logistics or material handling industry with a required background in robotics.
Proven experience in robotic automation systems with an understanding of how they function and interact with peripheral components. Experience with Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB, KUKA robots or AMRs is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of engineering and mathematical analysis.
Proven experience using an engineering design tool for automation systems (CET Designer, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, Inventor etc.).
Proven experience with business or financial metrics such as ROI, cost price, CapEx, OpEx with the ability to drive projects and designs to meet specific metrics based on customer needs and design considerations.
Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach across diverse cultures and a proven team‑player mindset.
Proactive in continuous learning and consistently seeking improvements to drive better outcomes.
