Within the research group Visual Data Analysis, located within the department Visual and Data-Centric Computing, we are offering a position, starting January 1, 2027, on a full-time basis (39,4 hours per week), limited until December 31, 2029 for a Researcher (f/m/d). If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
The project is part of the DFG-funded research group RobustCircuit, which is carried out in close cooperation with neurobiological research groups at Freie Universität Berlin, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and the Paris Brain Institute, as well as a mathematical research group at Freie Universität Berlin.
The aim ofRobustCircuit is to investigate the role of imprecision in neural circuit assembly and its effects on the structural and functional robustness of these circuits. Various imaging techniques, including multiphoton microscopy, are used to generate time-dependent two- and three-dimensional image data of neurons and subcellular structures.
You will develop and adapt image analysis and automated tracking methods for time-dependent two- and three-dimensional imaging data. These methods will support neurobiologists in analyzing and interpreting their experimental data.
In addition, computational connectomics will play an important role in investigating the structure and organization of neural circuits.
