Jobbeschreibung

MyoPax is a biotechnology start-up in Berlin focused on developing novel cell and gene therapies for muscular diseases. We work to precisely address disease-causing mechanisms in muscle tissue and to derive therapeutic approaches that are clinically applicable in the long term. Our team combines scientific depth with a clear translational ambition and a consistent focus on patients. Our mission is to bring effective and safe therapies for people with severe muscular diseases into application. Our research must be reproducible, scalable, and clinically relevant.

For our laboratory in the Co.Lab on the Bayer AG campus in Berlin-Wedding, we are looking for a driven and scientifically rigorous Research Scientist who wants to build something real by bringing science all the way to the patient. You think in translational terms and feel equally at home at the bench and at the whiteboard. The focus of this role is the development and application of hiPSC-based technology for muscular diseases, with a strong emphasis on experimental planning and execution with clinical relevance in mind. This is a hands-on position: we expect you to develop the project at the bench as well as in a team effort with discussions at eye level.

Candidate Profile / Responsibilities
  • PhD in stem cell biology, molecular biology, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with the complete hiPSC workflow, including the optimization of hiPSC differentiation protocols
  • Practical expertise in FACS (panel design + cell sorting) / Immunofluorescence (protocol development and optimization, quantitative image analysis) / Microscopy
  • A track record of independent experimental work published in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to design, plan, and execute experiments, including detailed planning, independent troubleshooting, and structured documentation
  • Take ownership of your scientific questions and contribute actively to the scientific strategy of the team
  • Clear, structured communication, team player
  • Fluent English as a working language
  • Unconditional willingness for planned weekend work
Plus:
  • Skeletal muscle background
  • Experience with process scalability (bioreactors, suspension culture)
  • Experience with GMP standards or a clearly demonstrated drive to transition into this space
  • Working knowledge of clinical development pathways (IND, IMPD, Phase I/II design)
What We Offer
  • A highly motivated team that is passionate about our mission
  • Strong team spirit with a supportive working environment and attentive colleagues
  • A motivating goal for a truly meaningful cause with a direct impact on patients' lives
  • The opportunity to contribute your own scientific vision and shape the direction of the research
  • Workplace in Berlin-Wedding (Co.Lab on the Bayer AG Campus) – an inspiring, modern biotech start-up hub on the 11th floor above the rooftops of Berlin
  • Flexible working hours (as needed and in coordination with the team)
  • Full-time position; part-time possible by arrangement

MyoPax promotes equal opportunities and diversity. We decide solely based on qualifications, motivation, and above all team spirit. A gender equality plan is in place.
