Zusammenfassung

Samaritan Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Operator/Registration Clerk to handle patient registrations and manage front-desk tasks.

You will answer phones, collect payments, post to accounts, verify insurance, and assist patients and staff with billing questions in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifikationen

  • High School graduate.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with hospital registration is a plus.

Aufgaben

  • Answer Operator phones and direct calls to the appropriate offices.
  • Print receipts and post payments to the correct accounts for all money received.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and prepare daily deposits.
  • Apply employee discounts and payroll deductions on patient accounts.
  • Answer patient questions regarding bills and direct them to appropriate staff.
  • Send invoices to doctors and other businesses for central supply and pharmacy.
  • Collect, post/apply, and deposit all general ledger payments.
  • Work holiday rotation and cover evening/weekend as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the director.
  • Balance change bag in safe and weekend cash drawer.
  • Scan and index all payments and correspondence received.
  • Enter complete and accurate information on the admission demographic record, during patient registration.
  • Obtain signatures on medical and financial documents.
  • Check insurance eligibility on each registration.
  • Completely and accurately register outpatients and inpatients, including obtaining copies of insurance cards and signatures.
  • Prepare morning census and complete necessary paperwork on weekends.
  • Secure and lock hospital doors after day & weekend shifts.

Position summary:

Responsible for providing effective customer service when utilizing the hospital Operator system and during face-to-face interactions with patients, family members, and hospital personnel. Will also collect accurate patient information and complete patient registrations in a timely manner.
