Siemens Mobility is seeking a driven project leader to guide research and development efforts across hardware, software and systems engineering. You will define project objectives, drive execution, manage risks and coordinate closely with customers to ensure timely, high‑quality outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, extensive experience in managing complex R&D programs, and fluency in German and English.

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences, engineering or a related field.
• You have many years of experience managing complex research and development projects.
• Expertise includes signaling technology, train control systems and rolling stock engineering.
• You have experience leading international teams and fostering cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• A project management certification such as PM@Siemens or IPMA is a plus.
• You communicate confidently in German and English.

• Prepare cost estimates and monitor safety, quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Provide clear updates to internal and external partners and drive alignment.
• Support business development with technical input to proposals.

What do you contribute?

• You lead one or more research and development projects in the areas of hardware, software and/or systems engineering.
• Based on customer requirements, you define the project objectives and manage the entire project lifecycle, from concept to implementation.
• Driving project execution also forms part of your role. You manage risks, resolve bottlenecks and make strategic decisions to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
• In close coordination with customers, you agree on implementation options and schedules, ensure resource availability and define suitable solution approaches.
• In addition, you prepare project cost estimates and monitor project progress with regard to safety, quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Clear communication with internal and external partners is another key aspect of your role. You provide transparent project updates and drive alignment across all parties involved.
• Furthermore, you support business development by contributing your technical expertise to sales projects and proposals.

What do you bring along?

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences, engineering or a related field.
• You have many years of experience in managing complex research and development projects.
• Your expertise includes sound knowledge of signaling technology, train control systems and/or rolling stock engineering.
• You have experience in providing functional leadership to international teams and know how to foster effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ideally, you hold a project management certification such as PM@Siemens, IPMA or a comparable qualification.
• You communicate confidently in both German and English.
