Zusammenfassung

BIOWEG is seeking an R&D Formulations Intern in Düsseldorf to design and optimize functional ingredients that eliminate microplastics. You will work hands-on with experienced scientists to translate client requirements into high-performance products.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Master’s in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field, with strong English skills, excellent communication, and up to two years of lab experience in cosmetics or related areas.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multicultural startup environments.
• Demonstrates a curious, proactive problem-solving mindset for innovative solutions.
• Up to two years of hands-on lab experience in cosmetics, coatings, or surfactant formulation preferred.
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and quality-management tools is a plus.
• Experience with material analysis tools (Rheometer, FT-IR, DSC, SEM, TEM, DMA, XRD, Raman) is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Track cosmetics and personal-care trends and present new formulation ideas to the R&D team.
• Formulate new innovative products and refine existing ones.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment safely per SOPs.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of experiments, formulations, and documentation (SOPs, MSDS, COAs, batch logs).
• Conduct stability studies, analyze results, and record data.

As an R&D Formulations Intern at BIOWEG, you will work hands on designing and optimizing our functional ingredients that eliminate microplastics. You'll collaborate with experienced scientists to develop prototypes, troubleshoot processes, and translate client requirements into high-performance products.

Your Role

• Track cosmetics and personal-care trends and present new formulation ideas to the R&D team
• Formulate new innovative products and refining existing ones
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment safely according to SOPs
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of experiments, formulations, and documentation, including SOPs, MSDS, COAs, and batch logs
• Conduct stability studies on formulations, analyze results, and record associated data

Your Profile

• Currently pursuing a Master's in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural startup environment
• Demonstrates a natural curiosity and proactive problem-solving mindset, continually seeking innovative solutions to challenges
• Up to two years’ hands-on laboratory experience in cosmetics, coatings, or surfactant formulation preferred
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and quality-management tools is a plus
