Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. Göttingen is seeking an experienced optics professional to evaluate customer requests and develop high-precision optical components for advanced systems.

You will analyze, simulate, and design components with focus on performance and reliability. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Optics/Photonics/Physics, several years of experience with complex optical components, and hands-on experience with optical glass processing, coating, cleaning, and bonding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in the field of complex optical components.
• Experience with optical glass processing, coating, cleaning, fine cementing, and optical bonding.
• Knowledge of optical component design, ideally using Zemax or similar tools.
• Experience with optical metrology and the specification of optical performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer requests for advanced optical coatings and complex optical components from a technical perspective.
• Develop, analyze, and simulate complex optical components for advanced optical systems and modules.
• Design and optimize optical components with regard to performance and functionality.
• Develop and enhance manufacturing methods and processes in grinding, lapping, polishing, cleaning, coating, fine cementing, and optical bonding.

For this highly demanding market, the Göttingen site supplies highly complex opto-mechanical modules, subsystems and components for applications in lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging.

In addition, this site manufactures and supplies a broad range of optical and mechanical components, including complete optical systems, to support scientific research and development as well as industrial production.

Your Tasks
