Jobbeschreibung

At Britax Römer, we've been protecting children on the road since 1966. Our mission is to provide safe, comfortable, sustainable, and easy-to-use child mobility solutions. From our very first child car seat to today's innovative range, we've helped protect millions of children around the world on their journeys.

With over 50 years of industry leadership, we're proud to empower parents through our expertise – giving them the confidence and peace of mind to enjoy smooth, safe family travel every day. Our products deliver premium safety, comfort, and quality at every stage of childhood, from newborn to 12 years.

Across our international locations, our dedicated teams work together to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

Driven by our values – Care, Trust, and Curious – we continuously strive to improve and make a positive impact, not only by protecting children but also the world they grow up in.

Now, we're looking for an experienced Quality Manager EMEA (m/f/d) to lead our Quality Engineering team and take ownership of the quality function across the full product lifecycle.

As our Quality Manager EMEA, you'll be responsible for everything from NPD milestone gates and supplier quality to regulatory compliance and the resolution of consumer feedback. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of what makes Britax Römer products trusted by parents and regulators worldwide.

Working closely with Engineering, Sourcing and Supply Chain colleagues across EMEA, as well as our manufacturing partners in Asia, you'll ensure that quality is built into every stage of product development and production.

What you'll do

In this role, you'll lead our Quality Engineering team while taking direct ownership of our quality systems, supplier quality, product compliance and continuous improvement activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop our team of Quality Engineers, building capability and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the Quality Engineering budget, including capital and operating expenditure, and provide monthly variance reporting.
  • Own our document control processes and quality management systems in line with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Manage product and supplier quality to ensure finished goods meet all internal, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Own supplier qualification, auditing and development activities, including ISIR management and production audit testing.
  • Lead all quality deliverables within the NPD milestone process, applying APQP methodology throughout: DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.
  • Ensure our products meet applicable European and international safety standards, including ECE/UN Regulation 129, UN-R44 and relevant ISO standards.
  • Monitor the regulatory landscape and proactively manage compliance risks across the EMEA product portfolio.
  • Own internal and external corrective action processes, ensuring robust root cause analysis and sustainable countermeasures.
  • Drive company-wide quality improvement initiatives, including process validation, statistical process control and quality performance reporting.
  • Analyse consumer and retailer feedback to identify trends and lead targeted improvement projects.
  • Travel internationally, primarily to Asia, to support NPD launches and ongoing quality activities at our manufacturing partners.

What you'll bring

We're looking for an experienced quality professional who combines strong technical expertise with a hands-on leadership style and a passion for continuous improvement.

What helps you succeed in this role:

  • A degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • At least five years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing quality, combined with proven team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP methodologies, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
  • Experience gained within the automotive industry, safety-critical consumer products or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of European product safety regulations, including ECE/UN Regulation 129 and UN-R44.
  • Experience managing an international supplier base, ideally including manufacturing partners in Asia.
  • A structured approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop others, set clear direction and drive accountability.
  • Confidence communicating and collaborating across functions, cultures and time zones.
  • DGQ certification or a Six Sigma Green or Black Belt would be an advantage.

You don't tick every single box? That's okay — we'd still love to hear from you.

What you can expect

  • A hands-on leadership role with responsibility for quality across the full product lifecycle.
  • The opportunity to lead and develop our Quality Engineering team and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues across EMEA but also globally and with our manufacturing partners in Asia.
  • A role where your expertise directly influences product quality, regulatory compliance and the continuous improvement of our products and processes.
  • An international working environment with opportunities to support NPD launches and quality activities at our manufacturing partners.
  • A flexible hybrid working model, typically combining three days on-site with two days working from home per week.
  • A collaborative culture built on our values: Care, Trust and Curious.
  • A team that values knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and supports your professional growth.

Most importantly: your work will help ensure that families can continue to trust Britax Römer products to protect children on every journey.
