Quantum Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer - UGVs in Göppingen to drive quality improvements across the production process and help scale LAND platforms from prototype to serial manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to enhance inspection plans, root-cause analyses, CAPA actions, and quality documentation.

The role requires a technical degree and experience in manufacturing QA, with strong skills in 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, SPC and ISO 9001, plus German and English communication.

As a Quality Engineer - UGV (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the further development and maintenance of the quality management system within our unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) production facility in Göppingen. You will drive sustainable quality improvements across the entire production process and play a key role in transforming our LAND production from a prototype-focused environment into a robust, repeatable, and scalable serial manufacturing operation.

You will work closely with Production, Industrialization, Engineering, Testing, and Logistics teams, continuously improving inspection plans and quality processes while actively contributing your expertise to root-cause analyses and continuous improvement initiatives.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inspection plans, quality inspection instructions (QI), and quality processes for Mandrill UGVs and future LAND platforms.
• Conduct root-cause analyses (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why) for quality deviations and derive sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Own the deviation and non-conformance management process, including assessment, approval, and follow-up of deviations.
• Support supplier quality management and incoming goods inspection, and perform process and product audits.
• Analyze quality KPIs (e.g., scrap, rework, first-pass yield) and implement improvement actions.
• Actively contribute to validation builds and LRIP (Low-Rate Initial Production) ramp-up activities with a focus on quality stabilization.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Industrialization, Engineering, Testing, and Logistics teams to drive sustainable quality improvements.
• Support certification and customer audits and maintain quality documentation.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification. Equivalent professional experience in quality engineering will also be considered.
• Experience in manufacturing quality management, ideally within the automotive, mechanical engineering, aerospace, robotics, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of quality methods and tools such as 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, SPC, and quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
• Experience working with measurement and inspection equipment, technical drawings, and inspection instructions.
• Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to drive compliance with quality standards.
• Strong quality mindset and the confidence to stop and escal**?** issues when standards are not met, rather than working around them.
• Open and professional communication style with a collaborative approach to working with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
• Good German and English language skills.
