Mission Brief
As QC Inspector, you are responsible for verifying that incoming materials, manufactured parts, assemblies, and released products conform to drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality requirements. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, review supplier documentation, record objective evidence, and support reliable conformity decisions throughout incoming and final inspection.
This role is critical to protecting product quality and production continuity. You will work closely with Incoming Inspection, Production, Metrology, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Assurance to identify non-conformances, improve inspection methods, and ensure only compliant hardware progresses through the manufacturing flow.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Perform incoming and final inspections of parts, materials, assemblies, and associated documentation against approved drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using hand gauges, measurement equipment, microscopes, and coordinate measurement systems as applicable.
- Perform visual and workmanship inspections, including verification of surface condition, coating, cleaning, marking, damage, and assembly quality.
- Review certificates of conformity, inspection reports, material certificates, and other supplier quality documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate, traceable quality and product acceptance documentation.
- Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products and support technical clarification, containment, and disposition activities.
- Create and improve inspection checklists, measurement plans, and inspection instructions for incoming and final inspection.
- Develop and optimize measurement programs using applicable metrology software and equipment.
- Support supplier quality requests, source-related investigations, and supplier qualification activities with inspection evidence and technical input.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Metrology, and Quality teams to resolve inspection issues and improve product conformity.
- Ensure inspection and measurement equipment is used correctly and remains within valid calibration status.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and quality-at-source initiatives across manufacturing operations.
