Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Psychiatry Expert for a remote, contract-based role. You will evaluate how large language models reason through complex psychiatric cases and design gold-standard diagnostic challenges with clear clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities include developing edge-case scenarios, highlighting nuanced differentials and risk assessment, and collaborating with research teams at a leading AI lab to improve model performance. Must hold board certification and an unrestricted license.

Qualifications

• Completed psychiatry residency (ACGME, AOA, or national equivalent).
• Medical degree: MD or DO; DO and international degrees qualify.
• Active board certification in psychiatry (ABPN, FRCPC, MRCPsych, FRANZCP, or national equivalent).
• Active, unrestricted medical license with no suspension or action.
• 3+ years of independent practice after residency.
• Practice in an accredited or government-licensed setting.
• Based in US, UK, Europe or Australia (US preferred).

Qualifications Must-Have

• Completed psychiatry residency: ACGME, AOA, or national equivalent.
• Medical degree : MD or DO . DO and international degrees qualify.
• Active board certification in psychiatry: ABPN, FRCPC, MRCPsych, FRANZCP, or recognized national equivalent.
• Active, unrestricted medical license. No suspension, revocation, or open disciplinary action.
• 3+ years of independent practice after residency, currently or within the last 2 years.
• Practice in an accredited or government-licensed setting: hospital, academic center, community clinic, private practice, or telehealth.
• Based in the US , UK , Europe , or Australia . US preferred.

Preferred

• 10+ direct patient-contact hours per week , current. Clinical care only.
• Psychiatry-Specific Subspecialty depth in Addiction , Child/Adolescent , Forensic , Geriatric , or Consultation-Liaison .
• OSCE development or examiner experience.
• Faculty appointment in a department of psychiatry, current or within 2 years.
