Prototype Build Technician – Technical Center (M/F/X)

We are looking for a Prototype Build Technician to join the Technical Center of a major international player in the automotive and electromobility sector, based in Hautcharage, Luxembourg.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to assemble and test prototypes that support key innovation and development programs.


Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Technician.
  • Experience working with power electronics products is highly valued.
  • Previous exposure to the automotive industry is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Flexibility to meet demanding prototype delivery schedules.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment.
  • Fluency in English; French is considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive Work Requests, Bills of Material (BOM) and assembly drawings.
  • Collect components from the storage area while strictly following traceability procedures.
  • Create or adapt the required tooling in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers or Tool Designers.
  • Assemble and test components according to the Process Control Plan (PCP) and Work Instructions.
  • Complete PCP reports and document any deviations identified during the build process.
  • Actively contribute to resolving assembly issues alongside product, process, and quality engineering teams.
  • Participate in work order debriefings with engineering stakeholders.
  • Support Measurement System Verification activities for equipment.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is considered an asset:
    • automatic assembly, automated screwdriving, leak testing,
    • laser welding,
    • Siemens Step7 PLC programming,
    • robotics and vision systems.
