Zusammenfassung

European Mechanical Contractor is seeking a senior Project Manager in Germany to lead large-scale mechanical and plumbing installations. The candidate will manage mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning and handover, coordinating site teams and subcontractors to deliver to clients and consultants.

The role requires a recognised Installateur und Heizungsbauermeister and a track record of delivering complex mechanical projects in Germany, with strong leadership and project

Aufgaben

• Take overall responsibility for mechanical and plumbing project delivery from planning through to handover
• Develop project execution plans, programmes, milestones and look ahead schedules
• Plan workforce requirements and coordinate direct labour, specialist subcontractors and site resources
• Manage mechanical installation activities including materials, logistics, off site manufacturing and site coordination
• Monitor programme performance, KPIs, project risks and constraints
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, cost control and margins alongside the commercial team
• Oversee variations, change orders and subcontractor accounts
• Coordinate procurement schedules and identify long lead mechanical equipment and materials
• Work closely with clients, consultants, design teams and specialist subcontractors to resolve technical issues and design clashes
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, drawings, work plans and project records
• Coordinate technical inspections, measurements, testing and commissioning activities
• Carry out and oversee fault finding, troubleshooting and corrective measures where required
• Ensure installations comply with German regulations, recognised technical standards and project specifications
• Lead progress meetings and provide clear project reporting to senior management and clients
• Maintain strong health and safety standards, including risk assessments, RAMS and site compliance
• Drive QA/QC procedures throughout installation and commissioning
• Coordinate snagging, defect close out and final inspections
• Manage project handover including O&M manuals, as built documentation, acceptance of completed works and final project close out

The Company

An established mechanical contractor delivering complex mechanical, plumbing and building services projects across Germany and the wider European market.

The business is continuing to grow its German operations, with a strong pipeline of large scale mechanical projects across data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and commercial sectors. Projects are delivered to demanding technical, safety and programme standards, with experienced engineering, commercial and site teams supporting delivery.

The Role: Project Manager – Installateur und Heizungsbauermeister

This is a senior Project Manager position in Germany requiring a recognised Installateur und Heizungsbauermeister qualification.

You will take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of large scale mechanical and plumbing installations, managing projects from mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning and final handover.

The Project Manager will report to the Operations Director and lead site teams, subcontractors and project resources while working closely with clients, consultants, design, procurement and commercial teams.

The successful candidate will also provide the qualified technical oversight required to support the contractor's German operations and HWK registration requirements.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a recognised Installateur und Heizungsbauermeister qualification


• Proven experience required managing large scale mechanical, plumbing or building services projects


• Strong knowledge of German technical regulations, legislation and health and safety requirements


• Must have experience leading site teams, direct labour and specialist subcontractors


• Strong project management experience covering programme, procurement, cost control and project delivery

Preferred Experience

• Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial project experience preferred


• Experience delivering complex mechanical installations in Germany beneficial


• MS Project experience preferred, with Primavera experience beneficial


• Strong client facing and commercial management experience

About You

You will be an experienced mechanical Project Manager with a recognised Installateur und Heizungsbauermeister qualification and a strong understanding of delivering mechanical and plumbing installations in Germany.

You should be comfortable taking technical and operational responsibility for projects, managing site teams and subcontractors while maintaining control of programme, quality, safety and commercial performance.

Strong communication is important as you will deal directly with clients, consultants, commercial teams and senior management. You will also need a practical understanding of mechanical installations, technical drawings, fault finding and commissioning.
