Project Manager Ghana (f/m/d) Media Development Africa, DW Akademie

We are seeking for the DW Akademie in Accra, Ghana a Project Manager Ghana (f/m/d) Media Development Africa as of 1 March 2026 or as soon as possible based on a part-time (50%) local staff employment contract limited until 30 June 2028.

Your challenges
  • oversee the implementation of the EU-funded project "African Media Integrity and Resilience Programme, Ghana" in collaboration with the Program Director
  • monitor and evaluate project activities while preparing comprehensive narrative and administrative reports on project status
  • manage budgets, administrative tasks, and ensure financial accountability and compliance with donor requirements
  • design, plan and organize project activities including trainings, consultations, events, and business trips
  • identify, select and support experts, consultants and trainers; develop training materials and provide guidance to partners
  • facilitate workshops, moderate events, and contribute to project visibility and communication efforts
  • network with cooperation partners, stakeholders, and media development organizations
  • support strategic development of media development projects across Africa and assist with other departmental tasks
Your qualifications
  • university degree (Bachelor/Master) in a relevant field, e.g. management, social sciences, political science, development cooperation, or media
  • several years of EU project management experience including planning, budgeting, financial oversight, monitoring and evaluation in international organizations
  • in-depth knowledge of the Ghanaian media landscape with experience in media development, media literacy, or journalism
  • strong report writing skills for stakeholders and donors, with social media communication experience desirable
  • proven expertise in partner relations, stakeholder management, and working effectively in diverse teams
  • experience in workshop organization, facilitation, and digital/online learning tools
  • excellent organizational, coordination, and communication abilities with attention to detail as well as flexibility
