We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project incorporating advanced grid‑forming technology. The role will oversee the execution of a 21 MW / 55 MWh battery project co‑located with a 20 MW solar PV plant, supporting grid stability services, black‑start capability, and broader innovation within the German power system.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the BESS project from late‑stage construction through commissioning and handover to operations.
• Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, grid operators, and third‑party stakeholders to ensure technical, commercial, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee commissioning activities including grid‑forming inverter testing, black‑start trials, and grid code compliance.
• Control project schedule, budget, risk register, and change management processes.
• Coordinate interfaces with the local distribution system operator, permitting authorities, insurers, and local stakeholders.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE, quality, and permitting requirements throughout construction and commissioning.
• Provide regular progress reporting to senior management and investors, highlighting risks and mitigation actions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience delivering utility‑scale renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Strong understanding of BESS technology, grid connection processes, commissioning, and SCADA / EMS integration.
• Experience working with German grid operators and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site and travel as required within Germany.
